Structured Cabling

Form leads to freedom

Network By Design

The term ‘backbone cabling’ gets thrown around a lot in this industry, and if you think about it, it makes sense. When your cables and connecting hardware are properly installed and maintained, data can move freely from one device, application, and physical location to another.

Your wired infrastructure serves as the backbone of your business, so don’t leave it to chance. At Just Cabling, we specialize in structured cabling solutions—methodically designed, meticulously deployed.

Typically, Structured Cabling consists of several standardized smaller elements. In a structured cabling system, there is a structure created by a series of patch panels and trunks. It allows for a connection from hardware ports to a patch panel at the top of the rack. Then, that patch panel is connected to another patch panel through a trunk in the MDA. And the MDA (Main Distribution Area) is the main aspect of structured cabling. It provides a place for all the MAC’s (Moves, Adds, and Changes) to be made with short-length patch cords.

Besides, a structured cabling system is specified by some standards like TIA/EIA-568. These standards provide guidelines for data center design, management, and operation.

Simple in approach

Your structured cabling system is as unique as your business. The building it lives in, the products and manufacturers it houses, the way it’s configured, and of course, the many use cases it supports. Homogenizing a complex arrangement of cables, associated hardware, and connection points may not always be an easy task, but with Just Cabling, the process is simple from start to finish.

A good cabling partner doesn’t just lay wires; they design and implement the structure behind it.

Generally, there are six key subsystems of a structured cabling system:

  1. Entrance facility
  2. Equipment room
  3. Telecommunications room or enclosure
  4. Backbone cabling
  5. Horizontal cabling
  6. Work Area

So, think of structured cabling projects and the subsystems like city planning. All the pathways, tunnels, and transition points must work in harmony to create a traffic flow that makes sense and gets people where they need to go—as quickly, safely, and efficiently as possible.

Whether you’re looking for a new install, an upgrade, or a repair, there’s only one call to make. At Just Cabling, we’re just a cabling company.
